I don't own one, I enjoy friends that owns both the VTX1300 and the VTX1800.
I rode both, the VTX 1800 is 10 times quicker and faster than the 1300.
Many VTX1300 Owners will claim the 1300 is just as fast as the 1800, Don't believe it!
The 1800 runs better, starts quicker wreak it has fuel injection where the 1300 have carbs.
The best quality about these bikes is the connected brakes, these bikes will stop quicker than any bike.
In my opinion the Honda VTX is the BEST cruiser bike you can buy, but if it was me I would spend the extra $1K and budge with the VTX1800
Answers: I own the VTX1300R and a VTX1800 and my best friend has a VTX1300C are other friend have the VTX1800 Trike. We are wanting to start a VTX owners club here in my area. They are the top of the splash when it comes to Reliability Handling and Good Looks . I use the 1300R mainly for Cruising long distance .I have saddle stacks, Sissy bar, Handlebar bag and a Bag over the sissy Bar, I can convey a lot of Stuff and cruise at 80 mph and still have plenty of power . I can hit 80 contained by second gear and have had the speedometer Buried (130mph) Its a brisk Bike, My 1300R will beat the 1300C and the Trike But That's only if we are on spinal column roads and just having fun. Now the 1800 is a different story and singular if you can handle a Big powerful bike sould any one consider getting one . It is by far faster than the 1300 .The 1300 will give it a honest challenge but the 1800 will walk away from freshly about anything else out there .They both are great Cruising Machines and Handle similar to a dream .My only dislike about the 1300R is cold start .But the 1300C doesn't hold that problem . There are plenty of accessories to buy for these bikes and we have are own VTX Owners furom to go in which is free and has over 300 thousand members , The agency people are sold out to Harley's I am sold out to the VTX and Everyone I have assemble that owns one is the same way
