I'm interested in possibly accepting a 2002 cbr 600 f4i with truthfully low kms on a trade. The title says rebuild and I'm curious if I should avoid this bike. The owner said he bought it from Coveys and that all he have to do was transformation a decal and cover up a couple scratches near another sticker. I'd appreciate any advice and knowing if a few scratch is enough to net a title say rebuild. I'm just uncertain to get a bike that may hold been wrote bad or seriously damaged. Thanks for any guidance.
Answers: all that have to be done for a rebuilt title is for the ins company to "total" the bike. Which they do when they estimate that the cost of repair is more than the worth of the vehicle. I have them "total" my camaro over a broken rear windowpane because the cost of replacing the window and repairing the river damage to the interior come up to a couple hundred more than bluebook on the car largely because of the bose speakers, so even though the car be not seriously damaged it have a rebuilt title immediately.
the problem is that you do not know why exactly the bike was totalled be it just cosmetics? or be it structural get it checked out thouroghly!!!
Rebuilt commonly means it is comprised of parts from more than one bike combined into one. Every states rules are different. To be secure contact your DMV.
