Is this believable?

i've just been charged lb30 for some flipside wheel bearings for my 1993 suzuki robber gsf 400. i provided the rear wheel to the mechanic loose and adjectives he had to do was knock the out-of-date ones out and put new ones in (i think).
if we right to be heard lb10 for the bearings (being generous). does lb20 for labour give the impression of being reasonable?

The tyre rework cost here in philippine is 20peso (approx 50c us) and the bearing replacement would be another 20peso at the out side but as expected your frieght on the wheel to n from here would need to added estimate $200usd)

Sorry but it sure sounds approaching a ripp off did you get the weak bearings back (any fitting shop allways offers the old parts backbone this shows that they were indeed replaced and were also contained by need of being replaced. A adjectives rip off from the dodgy shops is brake pade replace ments that are not done but simply charged for specialy if client is female.

I know of one that be charged for valve grind as part of service one and only one problem it was a 2 stroke .

Oh by the way i am a licenced mechanic next to over 40yrs experience and know rip offs happen every day at most workshops specialy the bid shops where on earth the forman has a quota of hours to charge out each hours of daylight.

How to avoid rip offs ? ask for the replaced parts to be returned will help reduce the possibility.
also if you suspect your going to be ripped stale mark certain parts past you leave the vehicle example my latest bike come with lifetime free service i just recompense for materials like oil I put some gunk on a nouns filter screw and the bike came back near gunk still there the filter cold not be removed anmless this screw was removed so they never cleaned the filter I could ask for my money fund but i now do my own servicing so I know the service is done correctly.

By the way go is good here very cheep living and great looking available ladies everywhere come and call in or live here
