Lifan 200 Worth it?!?

Are they really that shitty? Or is it worth it as a learning bike. I stingy at www.powersportsmax.com You can get one for going on for 1k. Which is wayyy cheaper than anything you could possible get. I simply want some feedback on this. Also couldn't you technically buy one and not even have a motorcycle license and ride around on it and stuff? How would they know if you have a license or not? And I just want another alternative than a Ninja. It's what EVERYONE say.

The reviews I've read for them tend to range from "they really are that bad" to "they're fitting if you have the wrenching dexterity to fix everything on them that was wrong when they come from the dealer." There's a grounds they are so cheap; the cost cutting doesn't merely come from cheap labor, but also cheaper materials and making it on cheaper machinery. While a Ninja 250 can hit 100 mph, a Lifan is going to have a firm time keeping up with freeway traffic. From what I own seen, I just recommend it if you don't mind wrenching and plan on just using it for in-town runs.

Yes, you do entail a full motorcycle license to ride it in adjectives states. Most of them draw the line at over 50 cc.

If you're looking for alternatives to the Ninja 250, there's a few alternatives. If you want to stay surrounded by the 250 cc class, you can get a Hyosung Comet 250 (also sold as a United Motors or some other brands). It's a Korean bike next to pretty good reliability. Or, shop around for a used Honda VTR 250.

Alternatively, you can turn to the next largest size, the 500 class. These aren't moderately as easy to ride as 250s, but they are still something I wouldn't dawdle to recommend to a beginning rider. I started on bikes surrounded by this size myself. This class has the Ninja 500, Buell Blast, and Suzuki GS500F.

Yes, Lifan is a huge manufacturer of two wheelers contained by China, really don't know if they are actually the largest, in that are over 900 scooter/motorcycle 'factories' in China!

Lifan is one of the better ChiCom lines. There are others that are slightly respectable too. The bad rap on Chinese scooters and motorcycles is in good health deserved, many of the components on these bikes are okay below any quality standard found on bikes made elsewhere. That self said, most of these components are easily replaced and cost little. Metallurgy on frequent of these rides is also substandard, and will perform tastefully for some time; however understand that fatigue will transport its toll too. The Chinese bikes in sincerity can be an excellent value if you are fully aware of their inherent 'problems', and are likely to put in some powered work yourself.

For the price paid, the Lifan rank is pretty decent, don't expect anything resembling the fit and finish of the Japanese scoots, do some research to learn just about what ChiCom scooter users live with, http://scootdawg.proboards59.com/ is a great source of info.

Answers:    Lifan is the # 1 motorcycle builder in China. I own a LF 250cc, a clone of my Virago 250cc. Its be totaly reliable in the year I've owned an rode it. Well the battery-operated, I had to replace cost me $ 25.00 for a Champion freestyle.
My opinion you can't dance wrong with Lifan.
True they hold more plastic than Japan bikes. But they tough an dependable.
