Could be electrical or mechanical. If you have a FI frothy on, get a service manual and follow the directions to read the code. You don't entail the special switch...just jumper the connectors near a wire.

If your FI light isn't on, it may be power-driven. Could be any of the following:
1) spun rod bearing
2) leaky head gasket
3) broken ring
4) dirty injectors
ect...ect...the roll on this one is very very long. We really requirement more details to be of any help.

check the battery, check to see if the cable are tight, check to make sure the ignition switch is on, check the kickstand sensor switch, what year is the gixxer, a common problem is the electrics in the ignition harness.
