MMI Graduates what are you doing in a minute?

Just wondering of the MMI grads on here if you are working as a tech, are you doing something else in the motorcycle corral or something unrelated?

Good starter crotch rocket?

Answers:    Hi Squeaky,
Personally, I graduated from AMI (American Motorcycle Institute, Daytona Beach, FL) put a bet on in 1980 and worked as a bike mechanic for the subsequent 23 years until a health issue (Parkinsons) forced me out of it. Over the years I own met a number of other guys both from AMI and MMI, some excellent mechanics and some...in good health...didn't exactly work out. I love bikes and I did like my livelihood, but, I can not recommend it as a career. I'll relay you a true story: Joe was a mechanic, he have $1000s of dollars worth of tools, attended AMI (not cheap), Joe worked hard out within the dirty hot shop, Joe faced trustworthy liabilities, a brake assignment has to be done right, if Joe dropped or scratched a bike guess who have to pay for it? Joe made around $40,000 that year which is pretty good for New England. Then in that was Tom he be a salesman at the same shop, his tools be paper and pencils, he did not enjoy to attend expensive training schools, Tom wore white shirts to work and his desk be in the upper air conditioned showroom, if Tom made a mistake, he crumpled up the form and started a new one, Tom made just about $60,000 that year which is pretty good for New England. Furthermore, neither Joe or Tom have health insurance, nor any benign of retirement plan. There are some who through hard work and perfect luck become highly successful surrounded by the motorcycle business, but, they are few and far between. If I could go stern in time I sure as hell would hold choosen another field of employment. Hope I did not nouns too discouraging, but, thats the way it is.

What do i obligation to do to...

I know at tiniest 23 people whom graduate from a Mechanical Engineering discipline in University and the single jobs they own been competent to obtain are labor job in the auto industry. Two out of a class of 87 grads do own good job in research paying only under $63,000 the rest as far as we know the great paid is $34,000 and are doing different Autocad, Industrial, but nothing really contained by Mechanical except for QA if this helps contained by some way near you have it.
