Motor cycle rules?

i am riding an sr125 on a full car licence.i haven't taken my bike oral exam yet so i'm on l plates.a lad at work have just turned 18 and have a 125cc vespa but has solely got a provisional.he have just taken his cbt and say he is all set to ride it doing a tour once his insurance is sorted.i thought he would be restricted to a 50cc moped until he either pass his bike or car examination.have the rules changed again only just.

Anyone who hold a 4 stroke gas...

They keep shifting but at 18, he can ride a 125 as long as he has taken his CBT.
The grill is, have you taken your CBT. I rode a 125 for 10 years or more on my motor licence before they changed the statute and I was grateful to take my CBT.

Change of occupation...... motorcycle Currier?

17-18 you are restricted to 50cc
18+ you are restricted to 125cc

But if you have passed examination you can still be restricted to 500cc, unless you take the direct access question paper then you can ride any bike.

The top restrictions own been within force 25 yrs+

The bottom restriction has be in force approx 12 yrs.

Hope this help, if not call round the dvla website - dvla.gov

Ive be told the open break night...

Answers:    while you are learning you are restricted by horsepower not engine size on the CBT you are restricted to 12 bhp when you hold passed your test you are restricted to 33bhp until you are 21 or hold been riding for 2 years whichever is the following at 21 you are able to bear a direct access course to permit riding a bike of greater power than 33bhp this also applies to unsullied riders who are over the age of 21
