okay, remember my question around ticking at idle a while pay for? well that go away after around a day. in a minute it is back. i go on the interstate yesterday and i think explicitly why. i have a ninja 250 and the first time be at 12000 RPM. i went to the peddler and they said i just involve a valve adjustment (scheduled for 6000 miles; around 4800 miles now0 i be told by a seperate source 12000 RPM is harmful to my engine (i honestly have no clue - first bike and RL isn't till 13000). so yesterday i only get it up to 10000. but still ticking. now i am disappointed. is there permanant lay waste to. tonight the ticking was still audible, but wasn't as present untill around 7-8000 and be as a high pitched "buzz" more really. someone - PLEASE support me. cause i am terrified for my baby. voice what you will about it man a girls bike, but it is a hell of a bike.
Answers: Girls bike? No. But they do have their unsubstantiated points. Oil feed to the cam isn't brilliant and the grease pump drive can break which takes out the entire engine. (google for GPZ305 engine problems - same deep engine).
12,000 RPM is fine so long as the engine's warmed up and you own good grease in it. Despite what Kawasaki share you, I'd be on 2000 mile oil change with that bike. That opening you should have a long and comfortable engine life, grease is cheaper than cams.
As for your specific problems, I'd be looking closely at the valve clearances and the cam manacle tensioner, and no - you probably haven't caused any irrevocable damage. Don't tolerate it go on too long though.
Ninjas instinctively have a "slight ticking" nouns that usually starts sometime after engine break in "500-1000 miles" if it's more than a "slight ticking" i.e if you can hear it beside helmet on and shield down over normal road tumult, you probably need a tap adjustment asap, especially if your a high revver. I usually own my valves used to every 3000 miles... but I race my bike and never shift past red-line "15,500 rpm." I don't really know what to tell you just about the buzzing, it's something I would have to hear for myself. I hope this is dutiful to you. If you have any other Kawasaki question don't hesitate to email me.
