Need serve next to yamaha bike, are you well-mannered beside engines?

Yamaha DT 50 MX 86' Stupidly I let my bike run out of 2 stroke oil, We later replaced the barrel + piston and since then it have worked but never properly, Ive checked the carb, points, fuel, spark plug, spark literally everything even brought new coils for it. When riding it seems similar to its running out of petrol but I know for sure that petrol is getting intro the carb, I cant describe how it runs the wod that comes to mind is inconsistant. Another problem is when it is finally working (rarely and only for 5 mins) I would be going along then it would sudenly simply cut out almost as if somone had hit the emergency stop?!

Advice and info would be much appreciated...

I had a problem like this on my banshee and it be the pick-up module. It wasnt sending a consistant spark to the engine.

Answers:    have one,nice old bike...firstly check the read valves aft the carb...make sure the close correctally..secondly you may have to conveyance the crank seals,very impressive on a 2 stroke as the crank is preasurised to aid fuel travel below the piston and via transfer ports in the tub...was it a new piston and a rebored firkin?,is yes then you will have to purloin it easy and run her in...hope this help..

When you utter "you checked the points", did you check the timing with a timing light?
Check the reed valve for leakage.
Remove them from the engine and hold them up to the light.
You shouldn't be capable of see any gaps where they trademark against the reed block.
Check the air cleaner.
