Piaggio mp3 125cc is it suitable?

I intend to commute in London on the new MP3 125cc. Would the engine be robust satisfactory to easily cover 4-5K miles per annum. Does anyone know of any problems with the bike that enjoy been identified.

Derestriction?

we do all know that the mp3 (bike!) have 3 wheels, how is that a commuting bike, its a car. to general, to slow as useful as a spoiler on a skip. I agree with everything every one have said so far but an mp3 as a commuter bike, your having a laugh, grant the guy some good advice. yes if your ancient enough and have a full licence consequently i agree a 250 would be good. as far as robust enough, scooters/bikes within this day an age are all pretty honourable with the very weird and wonderful exception. problems with the bike, yes as said before 3 wheel. which makes it useless for commuting. there are so heaps bikes out there that are cheaper and infinitely better and more practical than a 125 mp3! somebody is surely taking the mick, can't believe they have made one.

Scooter- Buddy?

if you r going over 50 60 kph..get at lowest possible a 350... i like 500 or larger...dont assume smaller is better... as soon as u get used to driving 125 you will want bigger...trust me...bring back as big as u can afford... a 125 might b ok if u drive 95 % in city

How do I distinguish what type of...

Answers:    There is a rule of thumb in that you work out the distance you intend to travel within a day double it and add 50 and this is the dimensions of the bike you should be using.
But for every increment of 10 mph over 30 miles distance there is a % increase factor
So if you travel 25 miles to work thats 50 return trip so double it 100 and add 50 = 150cc.
so if you be travelling 50 miles to work, then it would be
100 x 2 +50= 250 x 1.2 ( percentage increase) = 290cc
This isn't totally accurate but as I said its a rule of thumb.
alternately the other rule is to work out the mileage you intent to travel in a week see it and this is the capacity of the machine you should be using.
so 25 miles to work = 50 miles a year =250 miles in a week X 1/2 = 125cc
