Proper clutch adjustment methods?

are dirt bike clutches like car clutches surrounded by that you want a little free play or "slack"? or should the clutch be firm right from the beginning of the verbs? my bike is a 2006 yz125 no hydro cluctch, just plain stock. does have the adjust on the fly spur to adjust as you are riding. appreciation very much for the help.

yes there have to be free play BUT its down to the rider where it is...some have longer fingers,some use solitary one finger,otheres like a long pull,some resembling it to bikgt the seconds its away from the grop...its all down to personal preferances...hope this help

Answers:    Yes, here should be some free play in the cable.
If not, the clutch would be just something like to disengage and slip at fast acceleration (wearing down the plates).
Between the clutch lever and perch should be about 1/8 - 1/4" of free play, previously tension is applied to the cable.
