Riding A Crotch Rocket For The First Time...?

I'm new to this, so bear next to me. I'm 22 and have grown up around motorcyles all my go. My Dad and brother have raced dirt and flat track for as long as I can remember. I learned how to ride at a thoroughly early age, but I am NOT an experienced rider.

My problem is I am going down to Bike Week this year, and this time I actually hold a bike to ride. My boyfriend is finishing his custom built bike to take down with us, and we are taking his crotch rocket (600cc) for me. I enjoy never actually ridden one before... I've other been the passenger.

I know that all bikes are not like, and crotch rockets handle very differently than the bikes I am used to. The principal problem is I live in Michigan, the ground is snow covered, and I have nowhere to practice riding past the CHAOS of Daytona!

Any ideas on how to tackle this dilemma up to that time the beginning of March?!

I am looking to buy a honourable...

Daytona is definately not the place to cram. It may be best to ride on the back of your boyfriends bike. But since you do have some experience on other bikes you could find some place out of town to return with the feel of it. Once you get used to it you could start taking some short trips around town. It is pretty conjested so take care. I'l be there so if I see you in the ditch I'll relieve you pick it up(just messin' with ya}.Good Luck and ride safe.

SV 650 Exhaust Can.?

please = wear a helmet
when you get down south unload the bike and practice near it
in a empty parking lot
You vote you are not an experienced rider just a passenger. Well, for the sake of you staying safe and incomplete confidence for now as a non rider and just a passenger, YOU NEED TO SPEAK UP. It sounds resembling you are trying to "fit in" with the motorcyle madness around you. Hon, if you don't hold enough confidence in riding, confide within your boyfriend and tell him. Tell him you don't feel suitable about riding yourself and maybe you and him can transport the side roads to prepare you for it. BE HONEST TO SAVE YOUR LIFE, SPEAK UP, LEARN IT, LOVE IT.

I am indebted for the answers I...

When you get to Daytona, Find an empty parking lot away from crowds and pinch the bike for a few laps around the parking lot. Sport bikes steer a little cloying at low speeds. I don't know what you have been riding and or where on earth. Dirt or street, just spend some time to get used to the bike and ride smart and you should be ok.

I hold a yamaha v star 1100...

Let me get this straight. You are not an experienced rider but you are gonna start out with a 600. right luck with that. Hey why don't you try a bigger bike...hehehe. Get a 1000 cc one you will be fine. Remember to go as speedy as you can...KIDDING.

Electric motorbike?

For experienced riders a crotch rocket is a unbelievably natural riding position. Really a perfect riding position and at speed extremely agile. For an inexperienced rider it is going to be a bit tougher, especially at slow speeds and a apt 600 will be a real handful that can easily win away from you with the twist of a wrist. Bike Week sounds approaching a zoo. Personally I would say to back rotten of this plan.
