Answers: Top speed I don't know, but both are capable of holding speeds over 100. Worth it surrounded by the long term... YOU BET. The motors are great, low maintainence. They hold a pretty broad powerband, I've ridden the V-Strom 1000 (uses the same motor as the SV-1000), and it be a tractor, ran great. If the bike is comfortable for you, go and get it.
