SYM SHark problem?

My sym shark will start but when i open the throttle power increases for a second later decreases. any planning? please

Just for clafification... SYM is a Taiwan scoot, and a pretty good one too...

Does the engine slow down next die, or eventually catch up and run as a rule? There is a big difference in diagnosing a moment or two hesitation and an engine that will not adopt throttle input.


valves might be out of kilter, it is adjectives in adjectives small engines. you may also have a vacuum soak, you can check for that by using a spray can of starter fluid (ether) and spray lightly around the places where on earth you have nouns lines, if you have a dribble, you will get a serious make over in the rpm.

electrical areas that can bring this would be your CDI going bad, they tend to die a slow and agonizing annihilation, and drive you crazy as they do... a coil going bad also can basis the situation you describe.

You easily could hold a clogged fuel line or fuel filter, and the fuel reservoir itself could be clogged, if it has a peak in it.

Your 'float bowl' may be have some trouble, several things there, but freshly eyeballing it will tell you if explicitly the trouble spot.

Answers:    Start with the bare bones: Air- pretty much a given as long as the airfilter element is not plugged, dirty, or grease saturated. Temporarily remove the filter and see what happen. Fuel: check for pinched lines or clogged filter, if those things are OK, check carb for clogged jets and/or float bowl vent.
I do not know if your SYM scooter is 4 stroke or 2 stroke, I own read that the valves on abundant Chinese scooters tend to tighten up (IE lose valve clearence adjustment) if they do not receive the critical first service adjustment (usually recommended at 600 miles), hope you find your problem.
