I just aquired an infirm Honda Nighthawk 650 motor that hasn't been run contained by many years. Worked fine when final used according to last owner. I'm already planning on replacing fluids, filter and plugs. Is there anything else I should do formerly I start cranking it?
Answers: I would pull the plugs and spray a suitable amount of penetrating grease in the cylinders and permit it sit for a few days

Clean the carburator. If it hasnt be stared in years afterwards there is probably varnish surrounded by the carb which will prevent the bile from starting or running right. Take it off and bring to a motorcycle shop, they should know how to clean it for around $60-80. I would also drain the fuel tank and replace the fuel contained by it, check for rust first.
