i am 31yo have been riding a ninja 500 for a year to seize some expierence.i like both bikes as far as looks.i just want to know company is more reliable.i am also 5.8 180lbs what bike would be better for a guy my size?i will be buying a 2008 up to date. thanks for the help

A 500 wouldnt flip over on you ! Eathier gsxr 1000 or R1 will in 1st, 2nd ,3rd ect. I enjoy 06 R1 Raven(black) it scares me every time i ride it ! its my 3rd race readybike! I prefer Yams very soon but my other 2 were gsxr 6 and gsxr 750. Im 6'1 170lbs. Both good bikes,but more parts out in that for gsxr, and cheaper too. They both have a different feel.You hold 2 sit on both, maybe even test ride them. A pious idea is swingArm extenders. Keep them on till u get used to the bike, later if u dont like them, then give somebody a lift them off !

Why is my backside tiller loose on...
id go near the R1. It has over all better handelling and is a bit lighter so its easier to controll, also it looks closely better then a gsxr.what you should really get is a harley davidson sportster. dazzling bike!

They're going to very close as far as reliability goes. I hold to give a slight nod to Suzuki though as they build a stronger drive train and therefore usually closing longer than a Yamaha. However the Yamaha has better cosmetic fit and finish making it less predictable to oxidize, rust, and/or tarnish. Cosmetic problems are much easier to fix than mechanical problems so I'd take the stronger mechanicals of the Suzuki. Another point strong contained by the Suzuki's favor is that it outguns the Yamaha anywhere and anytime in all conduct categories. The proof is in it's tons bike of the year awards and first place literbike comparison awards. Plus it's been dominating AMA superbike since it's release.A 500 wouldnt flip over on you !
