I need two stands to replace my sprockets and verbs a fork off and start again that as well, these stands are cheap and I be going to buy the front and rear set, but I don't close to that universal word. I don't own the $ for pitbull stands so don't suggest that but what do you think of these? (I'm planning on anchoring the bike from the handlebars when it's up)
Is in attendance another brand/site you would recommend?
I figure anything is better than putting a 2X4 on my saloon jack and sliding it under the swingarm!

Does your bike have a complete lower frame? Many motorcycles use the engine as a stressed extremity, or hang the engine from a top tube - so no lower frame to use near this lift!
When we remove the front forks, we enjoy a Multi Lift http://www.klsupply.com/lift/mc460/
That we use for bikes with cradle-style chassis (not the Ducs!). Then we also use tie downs from the frame/footpegs to a roof joist for stability.
For our bikes without lower frame tubes, we use our raise gate http://www.klsupply.com/lift/lift-gate/ and use ratchet tie downs on the triple tree for tire removal. For fork removal, we hang up it from the top frame tube (with tank removed)
Costco usually have a smokin' deal on nice scissor lift, if you've got a complete lower cradle style chassis - this is the best and cheapest answer.
But I'd still use the tie-downs to the roof as insurance!
i don't know i own pit bull stands. nothing better
than them. perchance you should invest in some apt
stands and do it the right way. i rewarded 285.00 for
front and rear stands. my bike is stale the ground all
winter long. there's no style like the right mode.
Answers: I hold a set of stands from them. They work real resourcefully. The rear stand have 2 ways to lift the backside. 1 for bikes that have the stand spools, and 1 for bikes that don't. the stand have a flat rubber coated part that go under the swing arm. The front stand works resourcefully, but will not work if you have to verbs the wheel as it uses the axle nuts as the support point.
When you buy cast-offs, You will buy twice.
