I'm in the marketplace for my first dual sport. I want a dual sport more so than a dirt bike because I wont be able to tow it on my car. It's not haulable (sp?). I'm looking for comfort which I know thats not straightforward to find in DS. Also, for something contained by my height and counterweight 5'2 125-130 lbs.... and beginner. I want to do dirt/trails as capably as getting to these dirtparks without bugging populace to haul my bike for me.

I rode one and as an experienced biker and former dirt bike guy I was impressed near the speed and power it has for a 200cc engine. I will dance 80 mph highway speeds and riding off road it will dance anywhere, plus its light ample if you dump or drop it you can pick it up yourself.
( also ) its stingy on gas, you can ride all time on a tank of gas.
Its a obedient bike, i know you will be happy next to it, the only complaint is this bike is thoroughly cold blooded, it takes time to thaw the engine up so you can run it with the choke interested.
the best thing to do is turn to bike store i got my 07 ninja 650r and i have to sit on it and it was flawless size im 5'4 i would suggest u to try on it and if u have riding experince not at your best say get hold of what makes u healthy but first bike u should get something lower than 1000 cuz u gonna receive urslef hurt... right now im selling my 07 ninja cuz the insurnce go really high im not kid im 20 years old and my first bike insurnce be $450 a month it was not worth it in a minute itll be cheaper snice i had no accdient and more experince honest luck
