My friend let me own his Kawasaki Lakota sport last Saturday. When I widen the fuel valve nil happens, but when I turn on the engine, gas flows out of the bottom of the carburetor through a short time hose. How can this be fixed?
Answers: The carb float may be stuck in the down position, this cause the fuel to leak out of the overflow tube. Tap it a few times and it might be freed.
Well I don't really know quads, but I own worked on a few small engines in my daytime, And this sounds typical of one of two things to me. Dirt in carb. this would incentive it to leak gas for a little reasons, or a stuck float, if the float have a hole in it it will steep with gas and not float put money on up shutting off the flow so what the engine isen't using is merely flowing out of the carb. if it seems to be running ok excluding that I'd say it isen't dirt but any the float is just stuck or have a hole in it. you could try rhythm on the carb with the knob end of a screw driver if it is basically stuck this will some times free it.
