Where is the frame number on kx 250 2005?

where is the frame number on kx 250 2005? I thought they be on the frame head bellow the handlebars?
also what should i be looking for im past its sell-by date to look at a 200 kx but i want to make sure it is a 2005 as it have a black frame and other 2005s i have see are silver.

Answers: the VIN number should be stamped or on a ID plate on the steering neck right side of the bike. turn the switch bars adjectives the way to the not here and between the right fork leg and right radiator is where the frame d��colletage is located and there should be a number (alpha / numeric) ... I believe it is the 8th or 9th digit of the VIN, will determine the year model, at lowest possible that's how it works in the USA...

the first digits should be something along the lines of KX250J-xxxxxx, KX250K-xxxxxx, etc. where on earth the 6 digit will give you a stock of years like below...

KX250J-(1;2) = 1992;93
KX250K-(1;2;3;4;5) = 1994;95; 96;97;98
KX250L-(1;2;3;4) = 1999;2000;01;02
