I bought 2 identical 1993 bayou 220 from a freind not running get one running good. The other will start fine if you contribute it a little gas or spray some starting fluidin the carb and consequently willrun but you have 2 hold the throttle contained by a little bit. The carb have been rebuild professionaly. it also back fires once contained by a while out the carb back into the atmosphere box. i need 2 know the factory settings for the side mounted carb adjustment and the one on the bottom. that would abet me out greatly any other info would be appreciated
Answers: ok the side one is idle speed screw . The bottom one is pilot nouns screw , set it at 1 1/2 turns out. It should have be set by your professional . lets start you past its sell-by date, first let check adjectives electrial connectors. Then steep by step check 1. clogged or damaged nouns filter 2.clogged pilot jet 3.loose pilot shot 4. damaged choke system 5.carb have need of adjustment 6.idle set to low. Set fester to 425-450 rpm .You may want a service manual.
Providing that adjectives the parts are correct from the "rebuild", I would go through that carb again. It sounds resembling there is still some ruins or congealed old fuel contained by there somewhere. Be meticulous! There are no shortcuts when it comes to carb cleaning. Best of luck!
