a few years ago i had a really bleak wreck on a Suzuki GSX-R 600 that involved me losing control around a curve and dropping down the side of the bike and sliding down the asphalt for a good while formerly finally kicking myself out from underneath the bike.
i understand the benefit of have a fairing saver if you lay it down surrounded by your driveway at a stand-still, but if you dropped the bike down on it's side at a high speed, wouldn't that be more possible to cause it to flip over because of it's inability to lay flat against the road and save sliding?
please only answer if you own experience with bikes.

Answers: I guess if the saver manage to dig into the pavement or capture on a seam, it might make the problem worse - especially if it collapsed and pinned your leg inside the fare.
Maybe a good modification would be a ski-shaped shareholder that would hopefully ride over any obstructions, or even a roller. Of course later anybody who looks at your bike would think you must crash closely!
Not the fairing savers I've see. Unless you're talking more or less a different type, they're pegs that stick out slightly bygone the body. If you've lowsided I don't see how that peg is going to somehow make the bike flip. Might even build it easier to get your leg out from beneath the thing.
