OKay,,, im lost . I did an Ohm ccheck on all 4 coils and they read about 1.0-1.1 ohms. The booklet I think says the Primary coil resistance is almost .238 - .322... Can the coils be that missed up? at high RPMS when i am riding the bike holds back a bit... I did a Carb rebuild. so the last entry i could think of was the coils or plugs... plugs are NGKs just about 1000 miles on them. and the coils are since 2002 lol. So its time to change? or you think im doing something wrong?

Your ohm meter be off a little. try connecting the lead together, bet it was around .6 ohms. .6 + .3 is real close to 1.0 When an ignition system starts to go wrong the problem first appears just off vacant. I've found more bad spark plug caps than coils over the years. Bad coils are usually fry sincitive. The secondary resistance of a coil is around 3K ohm and so is the caps, so adjectives of them together is around 9K Just remember they usually fail in the interested mode. So if there is any resistance between 5k and 20k it is good. It might be time to adjust the valve or the motor might be running a little rich. OR YOU are just getting used to the power and involve a bigger bike to satisfy your "need for speed"
Answers: take the bike to a yamaha dealer num nuts.
