I have a 2001 ford ranger 4cyl, 5sp standard bed, and basically picked up a 12ft (looks smaller) 1965 Santa Fe camp trailer. I towed it home no problem, but the trailer hitch is too low, and make the rear ending of the trailer visibly hang down. is this a doomed to failure way to tow it? Is in that some way to mount a lower globe on the "step bumper" of my 2001 ranger? I went to
Walmart and they have some 2 1/2 inch "drop down" parts, but the "bolt hole" in those are horizontal, ie, that bit would not hook to my bumper where the current bubble is....any ideas please?
Answers: man on a bumper....using a lowering adapter, would change the stress points. achieve a frame mounted one,,,,,,,
buy a hitch
the bumper will fail after awhile
