I live in South East London and drive daily up through Greenwich to the A40. As I budge from Greenwich to Southwark and on, the further on you go the roads get better.
In Greenwich I spend more time looking at the road surface than other traffic. The roads are rubbish.
I live in northern NV and the road dept. have redone a strech of road the last 3 years that doesn't want it and refuses to fix a streach of concrete that needs repaved for years presently because its cheeper to repave asphalt then tear up the concrete and next replace it with asphalt.
Answers: totally agree with you.

When you spend all your money on war and tax cuts and agribusiness subsidies and the Pentagon "misplacing" billions of dollars and interest on the national debt, there isn't much disappeared over to fix up the roads.
That said, they're still a lot better than what they have contained by the third world.
most roads in this country are in desperate stipulation of repair and have been for plentiful years. makes you wunder where adjectives the road tax and congestion charge money in london go

Common condition all over the UK. Successive government and local councils' anti-car campaigns have see spending on the roads fall to almost nothing within recent years, to the point where many councils up and down the house now pay out more within compensation for damage done to people's cars than they do on road maintainance.
I think the penny is slowly starting to drop near a few of them, but it's reckoned there's a 10 year backlog.
Nice to know our lb300 billion contribution to the govenment's coffers is so well spent!
I too agree near you but our road taxes are being used for different things like dinners, plane trips, cars and a bunch of other things for the congress, so it seem that our roads will always be last on the document.
