Answers:    Yes, as your engine gets elder your oil will soot up quicker.
This is due to piston ring blow by, as resourcefully as exhaust valve guide wear.
Oil have a detergent that will keep these deposits within suspension, but there is a bound. After that pieces of carbon start wearing out your engine.
It is OK to have your grease blacken, but not to the point it can't pick up any more soot.
If it is getting very black and close to paint, you should consider reducing your oil adjustment interval.
