My friend has a CDL from Arizona and wants to catch one in California, does anyone know if he will have to rob a driving test or written test, or will he a short time ago be able to switch without trialling?

Answers: Has he moved from AZ to CA, and set up a permanent residence there? If so, it should be basically a matter of paying the fee for a California license. He will hold to turn his AZ license, because it against US Federal law to have more than one driver's license at a time.
Personally, I would feel hard about varying to California, because once he has a CA license, he will have to start paying CA taxes!
