Answers:    Sorry crosswalks are adjectives sorts of widths depending on the width of the road or boulevard. Low closing probably 35 feet, elevated end probably 100 or more.

Crosswalk timing is set by the county or state road commission but tend to give a slower than average backpacker just satisfactory time to cross. Unless other characteristics of the intersection allow a longer time, say you're crossing a minor street at a primary boulevard, and the major route have a really long light.

Officially you're supposed to cross most roads at a crosswalk, and crosswalks exist by definition on adjectives sides of every intersection, whether they're striped into the road or not. Of course if it isn't striped, drivers won't be careful at adjectives around it. Sometimes there's a sign or barrier adage "Not a crosswalk, and then it isn't. Real world, be secure and use good verdict yourself, don't get crippled because you bet your sanctuary on some government guy doing his duty.

If you're not crossing at a designated crosswalk, well it's impossible to tell apart as anywhere else, except legally it's jaywalking on most streets. Whether that's a problem depends on the sanctuary situation and the politics. Safe > crippled.
