Answers: They will work if they are placed where on earth they get full airflow through them... but on today's aerodynamic cars.... it's firm to do.
They work well on a voluminous truck because you can place them where they are out of the passageway, but still in the airstream which enable them to function. I had the misfortune of have a truck going in the converse direction with a set of whistle, scare the deer stern across the median and I hit it.
Someone spoke of bugs.... yep... have to preserve them clean... Hard to do surrounded by an area near lots of insects on a hot summer day.
