Driving- Who's contained by the wrong?

OK i was jogging along a dogmatic country road and a car came speeding around the corner consequently slammed his brakes on, i was running on the lefthand side of the road and he demanded that i stop and let him get on, there was a ditch on both sides of the road and i couldn't climb into them but if he stopped i could put your foot around his car. I just wondered who be in the wrong and how i should of handled the situation also if anyone could distribute me the address of a highway code where it shows certaind situations like this i would be particularly grateful.

I passed a conservatory bus!!! What's going...

Your question put me to sleep after the first sentence, but upon waking up and reading some of the answers I find myself physically sick. There is no imperative on the books in any state that give pedestrians carte blanche right of way surrounded by all situations. That is something that the Barney generation have come up with. (I'm special, you're special, everyone's special). There are places where pedestrians are strictly not permitted, such as on freeways, between crosswalks, in crosswalks that are clearly controlled by a signal that says tramp or don't walk, etc, and walking in these areas will achieve you a ticket. Laws regarding pedestrians and vehicles are extremely clearly written, and I am sick of people walking out in front of cars because of this belligerent and dead-wrong belief that adjectives pedestrians have the right of way adjectives the time. The first thing you better do if you feel the urge to oppose cars that weigh 100 times what you do is make sure that if you are run over and killed, you reasonably had the right of way so that your family unit can collect. The second thing you need to do is opt whether it is worth your life to insist on the right of way if you indeed legitimately have it. The third thing you involve to do is to decide whether you will go through the rest of your life span challenging everyone you come in contact next to. Your attitude is not doing anyone any favors.

Health Deteriorates and Brake Fails?

you should be on the side where you can see them coming. pedestrians other have the right away.

Anyone else sick of gravel trucks on...

As the pedestrian you should other face traffic but still at the same time pedestrians other have the right of way and the worker of any vehicle has to keep an eye on this type of situation and at indistinguishable time be in complete control of the vehicle.
Seems like in attendance was not any room designated for pedestrians, tolerate alone a shoulder that would allow a disabled vehicle to pull off...You be on a very dangerous piece of road that merely allowed one vehicle in each direction I don`t know?..You may have had the right of bearing, but it definitely was not a nontoxic situation, especially if a vehicle had to slow down or maneuver to keep from hitting you...You probably could hold been cited for obstructing traffic.

Moral of the story - don't jog/walk within the street.

As I have said heaps times on this forum... Right-of-Way IS NOT something you own. It's something the other guy gives to you. If a pedestrian MUST walk contained by the roadway, then you should always wander on the side of the roadway facing oncoming traffic, but that does not GIVE you the right of way.

The reason for walking on the side of the road FACING traffic, is so you can see the sports car coming and step out of the way if necessary. Roads are constructed and maintain for the use of trucks and automobiles, not joggers. The only place a car is REQUIRED to concede to a pedestrian is when the pedestrian is in a CROSSWALK!

The automobile is a lot bigger, and stronger, and harder, and if you don't obtain out of the way then you are the one that's going to be injured and lying surrounded by the ditch.

Front facing carseats?

Answers:    Pedestrians have the right of way legitimately, but I bet a car never went to glory because a pedestrian ran over it.
