Wife drives an '06 Toyota van; daugher drives an '03 Chevy Tracker. How out of danger are the up...

Answers:    it's not the wattage it is the AH (Amp Hour) capacity of the battery-operated
Most available have a 16 AH battery-operated which gives a cranking current of over 500 amps for 20 secs in the past going totally flat.
Go for one that has the tiniest number of additions. so no compressors or additional extras approaching inverters. as these can easily be disappeared on and flatten the battery surrounded by the power pack.

IMHO I would consider having dual battery fitted to both vehicles beside split charging and a seperate isolator switch, the second battery can be stored any in the trunk ( boot contained by uk) or there may be space beneath the hood ( bonnet Uk).

It doesn't need to be a roomy battery one suitable for a small compact or a thoroughly large motorbike or mower just about the 30 AH capacity
This will provide undying and reliable security and will work out cheaper.
Alternatively near are batteries available that enjoy a "SPLIT CELL" or reserve battery built into them. they replace your conventional battery-operated and have a ring verbs like a cola can on the top, when the largest battery is depleated you verbs the ring pull and this give you a further 1/4 of the battery dimensions for emergency purposes. once started the engine begins to restore your health the battery and it resets its self organized for next time. Check out your local supplier or the MPV or utility vehicle mags surrounded by your district

Watts are for AC and your battery is DC and it is within AMPS. both cars that you gave solitary need just about 650 amps to jump start.
