Parents are Solely Responsible for Their Children’s...

If you are adage that he was driving straight and you turned in front of him, you cause the accident. Even if he was speeding, you be supposed to wait until it was not detrimental for you to make your turn. You had to hold seen him coming, or you SHOULD have see him, at least. As far as his damage to his vehicle, it is irrelevant. You should own gotten a ticket, if the police came out.

Too anxious to drive after misfortune?

Answers:    Normally the person who be going straight would have the right of way over someone who be making a turn, but in your case, it looks similar to you already had control of the turn and were already at hand when he hit you.

If the damage is mostly to the front or side of your car (a t-bone) later it would be mostly, if not completely your fault but if the pull is mostly to the rear of your vehicle, then he would be mostly at criticize. In any case, it's up to the insurance company to assign fault to whom and to what extent.
