why are mexican truck driver only allowed to drive 20 miles into the U.S.?
I assume you're talking in the order of Mexican truck drivers who are Mexican citizens. Mexico doesn't have a set of sanctuary standards for truck drivers as high as the U.S. Same entry applies to the mechanical safekeeping of the trucks registered in Mexico. Mexican truck drivers who are licensed by the US and who drive US-registered trucks own far fewer accident than Mexican drivers from Mexico who drive trucks from Mexico.

2. There are currently less than 10 carrier permitted to do so- they must go through a sanctuary audit prior to getting permission.
3. They are one and only permitted to transport freight from Mexico to the U.S. and from the U.S. to Mexico- they are NOT allowed to pick up and deliver anything within the U.S.
4. The vehicle must bear a current CVSA (government issued) inspection decal or they will be placed out of service.
5. Also they must be capable of speak and understand English or they will be placed out of service.
6. The Teamsters are outraged on one paw and passing out confederation applications with the other!
