On Star Vehicle.?

do you have ON Star ?
do you like it or contemplate it's too much big brother ?

Should pedestrians be unstop to prosecution for...

This is Big Brother is watching you technology that should transport a shiver down the spine of every freedom loving person in this country.

All the foreign cars have a OBD2 chip (On Board Diagnostics)which does all this and can do much more. OnStar integrates next to this chip to send out a satellite/radio signal.

Examples:

1. Onstar can send you reminders when you are due for an grease change or 60,000 mile service. How do they know how many miles you own driven? The OBD2 chip tells them.

2. Onstar can also read the check engine light. They won't communicate you the results, only to take your vehicle to the dealer.

If OnStar can do all this, what make you think they don't know exactly how fast you are driving or exactly where on earth you are at all times? What makes you deem that the cops won't be giving out future speeding tickets by OnStar.

If cars are the most dicey track...

From a statute enforcement standpoint, I love it! If a vehicle is stolen, OnStar can track it, and give cops the location it is at, if it is moving, or sitting still. The other great thing is the capacity to know if a crash has happened. Say you enjoy an accident in the motor, and you are knocked unconscious. OnStar have the ability to know the car be in an accident, and if you don't answer when they 'call', they notify the correct directive enforcement agency, and can put a dispatcher on the line as well as giving them the location of the vehicle, possibly positive your life!
I do understand your concerns, but OnStar have a strict code they have to adhere to, and I give attention to the benefits outweigh the risks you feel it has.

Answers:    Onstar is maybe a little close to big brother, however, if you do not enable email notification they don't track your usage. Onstar is a great service that, for the money you can't get from any roadside assistance service. I deal in GM cars and trucks and PUSH Onstar, because of the benefits, just don't enable the email notification and don't let them keep your credit card on directory. Otherwise enjoy the piece of mind knowing your vehicle will tell them when you are contained by trouble, and need emergency help!
