I was driving in the moved out hand lane (NSW) on a freeway approx 100Km/hr - speed limit be 100km/hr. My father was in the passenger form and informs me that because i was in the departed hand lane (doing the speed limit) and the car contained by the right hand lane who was doing in the order of 80km/hr, i was driving illegally because i overtook him...i disagree.i did not tweaking lanes.he told me i should have pulled within behind this driver in the right paw lane..surely this is incorrect.

no approach, you didnt do anything wrong, as long as you were in your lane and he be in yours its not illegal.

It would solely be illegal if you were contained by the same lane and tried to overtake on the left appendage side.
