I park on road which has no lines at adjectives, but there is an old-fashioned sign stipulating a 10 minute waiting time. If there are no lines, next am I within my rights to park here. It does not mete out any obstructions.
If here is a sign near to where on earth your parked, then within is a time limit to how long you can be within. If there is a sign nearby then the parking misdemeanour is enforcable, and would be completely justified.
