if your child has to be form belted in a vehicle than why not have them on busses to? wouldn't the busing companys be breaking the directive when there are no belts on the bus??
Answers: I attended a seminar where on earth I found out that certain vehicle like mass transit and college buses (some municipalities do put seat belts on schoolbuses) don't own seat belts because 1) they don't get faster and attain the speeds that cars do (stop and go stuff 30mph average) 2) the sheer size of these vehicle absorb the forces of a crash MUCH better than regular passenger cars and trucks do.
I own no idea why coach buses don't enjoy seat belts (as they conquer speeds of 60+), that's an exemption probably buried deep surrounded by the DOT rule book somewhere.
