Statisctically speaking, you could be 50 and enjoy just gotten your licence and banning you would probably still be a dutiful idea. You'd still lack experience, no concern what age you were.
I agree, however, that just prohibition you is stupid. Not because you own a vehicle; don't EVER assume you have a _right_ to drive. You don't. No one does. Not your parents, not your driver's ed instructor, no one. When relatives assume they have a god-given right to do things, they tend to stop paying attention when they do them, and that's when they do stupid things. I estimate your parents should teach you how to drive in the snow since snow is distinctly a fact of life where on earth you live. Instead of keeping you away from it, they should teach you to deal near it properly so you know. If they don't, when the hell are you supposed to learn, exactly?
Perhaps it would be beneficial to ask them to teach you to drive contained by bad weather conditions so you can learn how and be a safer driver. Maybe when you ask them you should mention that and show it. I would have no problem teaching you to drive within crap weather, but I would make goddamn sure you actually know what you were doing.

Answers: I devise you have very smart parents. They want you to procure a little experience behind the reins before you have the distraction of other society your own age in the vehicle with you. It have been proven that the most fatalities of young inexperienced drivers is due to self distracted by a carload of their piers. I chew over it's fair. It's not worth driving knowing how worried they will be at home, and how dangerous those icy roads are for a unmarked driver. It's better to be safe than sorry! Just wait a bit bit longer and don't get mad at them, I'd do like peas in a pod to my kid. Also if you get into an accident or God forbid injure your passenger, your parents would be 100% responsible.
