On Interstate highways you might get ticketed if you do not own working brake, running and signal lights at the rear: either on the trailer or dolly, on a remote stuck on the hindmost of the vehicle or by hooking up the vehicle's lights to your own.

Your local laws will vary but usually you must at tiniest make an effort to put some sort of alarm back there. Especially at hours of darkness.

Answers:    As long as the dolly has functioning lights next no. If the dolly doesn't have lights then usually you use alluring lights that mount on top of the car surrounded by tow.

How to be a risk-free driver?

If you use a tow bar, safety chains are required, but a breakaway switch is not.

Fully functioning tail, brake, and turn signal lights are required on the towed car.

Trailers and Dollies are required to have reflectors, tail lights, brake, and license plate lights. Also, signal lights are required if the tow vehicle lights are unnoticed.

Trailers over 80 inches wide must have clearance lights. Most manufacturer comply with these requirements, however, it is up to you to be sure that all lights operate correctly.
