I am wanting to build a car built on a space frame. and moving the engine to the reverse or mid engined. I want a track car that i can drive doing a tour, and i wondered what is involved in registering it. Obviously it wants to meet mot standards but Does it want an sva test, and are here any other tests that involve to be done. such as checking the weld strength. and crash type test?
Answers: No crash audition. Or welding test done, but for the SVA it helps to draw from an engineer's report on the welding and metal structure. It will call for an SVA test. If you use plenty parts from a 'donor' car you may be capable of keep the untested reg no. instead of getting a Q plate. The D & V L A can give you a pamphlet which tells you what respectively part is worth surrounded by points. I can't remember the numbers but they go something close to; Engine = 2 points, rear axle = 2 points, gear box = 1 point.etc, etc. you enjoy to get in the order of 8 or ten points.

Built three rail buggies, I know not relly equal but the only entity I needed to do is make sure it have all the safekeeping equipment and all the lights working properly. If this doesn't give a hand call the state highway patrol and they will be capable of get you the paperwork needed.
