I Have a roommate who has a friend that has a boy who take the bus to school. When the bus comes his doors are open, the stop sign is out, and that pole contained by the front of the bus is out. His RED flashers are on. People drive 100 mph right past the red lights! they are in the oppisite lane but do thay other have to stop? This could cause an luck!! what shoud i tell my roommate to do??

My husband a short time ago become...

The singular time they do not have to stop is if there is a median dividing the lane. Try and get license numbers or have the police park essential by and watch for a day or two.
Federal and state law state that it is unlawful to pass a bus when red lights flash. It is also unlawful to go historic a bus in front of you when lights are flashing unless there is a median separating lane.. According to Iowa State Law, you can get your liscense suspended or revoked immediately if found guilty of such an offense. If it happen again, get the lisence plate number.

I am immediately convinced that at hand...

Tell them to try to get license plate numbers and call the cops.

Logic or need of it?

In the first place, driving 100 mph ANYWHERE surrounded by the US is illegal. If this is a commonplace occurence, you can call the pollice and ask them to maintain an eye on this stretch of road. They may or may not respond, but, that is pretty much all you can do give or take a few the other driver.

Secondly, the laws about college buses vary from state to state. In California, for instance, the cars on the opposite side of a multilane, or divided road do NOT hold to stop.

Answers:    Drivers are always inpatient.
There is similar situation other in NY and some drivers do not care because they're impatient.
According to State Law,
1. Vehicles on two-ways lacking median suppose to stop when school bus flash stop sign or red light unless driver signals OK.

2. If two passageway were seperated by median, and if flashed school bus be on lane on westbound while others traffic on eastbound does not apply.

3. All one way or all lane must stop if bus was flashing red.

While I was walking along five lane street call 5th Avenue, school bus flashed RED/STOP sign when it came to Girl's Academy on disappeared side and front door on right, however drivers including city buses, taxis just sped by them, ignore the sign.

Also, there's good website if you know the licence plate number.
Also according to news, this website have helped lots of police track down the illegal drivers.

You could also complain in the order of specific drivers who does not obey the law, etc.

RED LIGHT on university bus count as STREET TRAFFIC LIGHT.

When is the end sunshine we can...

If they progress by in opposite lane, and the road is a divided road (median, barricades) consequently the cars going in opposite direction do not own to stop. If they are speeding then they could be stopped for that. If you feel that speeding, even on the divided road, is a safekeeping hazard, and it is continuous, then contact your PD and see if they can set a motor cop surrounded by the area to watch and issue citations. By the process, in most areas, the bus driver can take plate numbers, and contact authorities.

Men vs Women?..........you know what I'm askin'?

Tell him to write down the time, date, description of vehicle passing, description of the driver and how abundant in the car. Give this to the bus driver, or report it to the police surrounded by a written statement. That's about all you can do as a citizen. If this is a regular happening where you live, the I would get a parent to suggest that police occasionally patrol that nouns for safety reasons.
