well first of all, if you can carry a car on a plane and the plane is obviously doing the navigation, why would you comfort? second of all, I assume you mean a portable GPS navigation system and it would do like thing that it does anywhere else. And your point is? Satellites pickup location on the planet whether you're below sea smooth or in the sky.. as far as street by street directions, that's an entire different story. Why do you ask anyway?

Answers:    They work pretty well in a pane seat, if allowed. It always amuses me when a GPS is prohibited (due to potential RF emission?) while laptops (notoriously bad in jargon of the RF noise) are allowed.

Of course, I don't think I'd want to be caught messing with a GPS while on the plane.
