I live near a crossroads, no traffic feathery but a zebra crossing. Not only near is an accident every year (cars hitting each other), but they kill two people who crossed on that zebra (saw from my balcony). One be an old man near a stick, could hardly work, beside a packet of milk. He was lately moving from the payment and across when some young-looking guy in a coup¨¦ heat him. The other be a woman in a business skirt and jacket, near a leather folder and a briefcase. She crossed strictly on that zebra - they just wipe her off. And they never stop within, whatever you do, so it's any risking your life and running across the road over that zebra, or staying within all the year long till the late evening, when the traffic stops.
So, it made me wonder: what are these zebras are for? So that when they at ending kill me (I be agile, and adroitly ran across every time), they will own a nice heartbreaking epitaph: "Killed in road disaster ON ZEBRA CROSSING"?
Answers: Zebra crossing is for pedestrians' use. It is supposed to be the point where it is not dangerous for pedestrians to cross the road and drivers are supposed to yield to pedestrians.
I wonder if the drivers contained by your town who use that street have eyes and know how to read.
