Why? C'mon give me a fine answer for what in the world is so essential that you must use your cell phone or text message someone while driving?
Oh and I'll join stopping at a stop light and calling/texting to this since I see family slam the gas when they realize the light have changed without even checking to see it's sheltered.
Plus the whole proscription on texting and driving in California is roughly speaking one of the dumbest things I've heard of. Mostly because according to that regulation a 16 or 17 year old is too much of a threat to society when they text but anyone 18 and elder they "know" what they're doing and can drive fine while texting. WTF, the ban should be across the board and effect adjectives ages.
Ok I did my little rant, so I'll go stern to my question. Why do associates text or use their cell while driving?
Cause there elevator don't walk to the top floor
I agree with you totally. It shouldn't be a short time ago for teens and such. and yeah, i live in california too. I'm aware of that current law.
it doesnt bother me though. i dont enjoy a cell phone, and im too young to own my license.
sometimes, when people use their phone while driving, it MAY be noteworthy.
but usually it isnt. i personally reflect on the police should give a ticket to whoever they fence in on their phones while driving. they are a potential danger to the world.
sorry if i didnt answer your put somebody through the mill well. but i did. contained by some sense.
Answers: You hold a lot of content within your question in that Mike. I'll try to comment on all of it.
I'll start next to your first request. Giving you a reason.
While I am sure this isn't best answer things, I am going to answer as truthfully as possible.
I have be using cellular VOICE communications in my business vehicle since the days when they were installed as briefcased sized unit under the chairs. I spend hours behind the pedals of my car and hold logged well over a million miles intuitively. I work in the fire protection industry and the have need of for 24 hour communication is constantly there. My customers would travel elsewhere if I couldn't communicate with them within that fashion. So, yes, to answer your cross-examine is it that important that I am competent to receive and make call while I am on the road, yes it is. Let me finalize this portion of my response by aphorism I do discriminate when it is safe to enjoy those conversations. Traveling down the turnpike, while maintaining my lane, I get the impression I can do this safety and responsibly. While turning surrounded by and out of city traffic or dealing with rush hour traffic is not the time and I will repeatedly tell populace I will have to ring them back if that's what I am face with (or verbs off into a parking lot.)
The problem near cell phone use (and other portable electronic devices) in the sports car, is so many society seem to forget how to drive while using them. People product sudden moves, they weave in and out of thier lane, they forget to signal. Others spot this activity and later they notice the phone, so in half a shake it's the phone's fault that the driver have allowed himself (or herself) to become distracted. If we'd just enforce the law we already have on paperwork, we'd eliminate these problems short the need to exceed more safety law, many of which, as you pointed out, don't even engineer any sense! If someone is driving erracticly, failing to signal, or otherwise breaking the law, they should be pulled over and fined. Cell phone or not.
Distractions own always be present while driving. Many occur even outside the vehicle. (People gawk is a big one.) Communications devices have be around for years. Would you take a CB radio away from a truck driver? Of course not! But that same truck driver is expected to fulfil the rules of the road while using his CB. It's not any different for cell phones, GPS, On-Star, or God-forbid, your laptop computer. People want to have satisfactory sense to put the priority of the road AHEAD of everything else. If they cannot handle that, I don't deem another safety decree on the books is really going to variety any bit of difference for that kind of poor driving.
Chastise me if you want, but that's my two cents.
If you fancy, why don't you rob my cell-phone poll...
