Hi, I just bought a 2008 Honda CR-V EX-L next to 4x4. We have winters near lots of snow and icy conditions are the usual. I am upgrading from a sedan with great winter tires because I am a believer within safety. I am used to driving contained by this weather though, and feel comfortable doing so. However, I'm wondering if I entail to purchase winter tires for the 4x4 SUV. Is it safe plenty as it is?
you if know how to drive and have done so..... long have the tires are good it should be ok 4 helm drives do get a long better beside a offroad type of tire but are not really needed if just driving dispossessed
I wouldn't recommend it. If the weather is snowyand you lose grip, you will cease up off the road no concern how mad your driving skills are.
And if something doomed to failure happens you probably won't be capable of learn from the mistake you made. So better don't trademark it in the first place.
and come on...you can use them for the subsequent 5 years...
I would do it ... well truly I did it...
Answers: You shouldn't need winter tires for the 4x4 vehicle. Look at the sides and the tread cut-out to see if they are all terrain or street tires. If they own a fairly agressive tread shape or say adjectives terrain on them somewhere you should be okay. If the tires are street tires I would say to return with a good set of all-terrain tires and enjoy them put on instead of "winter" or stricltly mud and snow tires because they aren't going to make that much of a difference...cost more, and will be horrible to drive when it warm up outside...Unless you live in right to be heard alaska or the north pole or parts of colorado or wyoming where at hand is snow on the ground all year..AT tires and 4x4 should seize you out of almost anything and you can drive them all year round. Remember one piece though..speed and snow/ice don't mix...no matter what the vehicle they still hold the same distance to stop on rime...so adjust your speed accordingly.
